A mother of three who admitted public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour has had sentencing adjourned for a probation report.
Haley Dietrich, 29, of Hampton Green, Balbriggan, appeared before Swords District Court, where Judge Shalom Binchy ordered a probation report and adjourned the matter to July.
The court heard that gardaí came across Dietrich stumbling along the road at Pinewood Green in Balbriggan on January 14.
Garda Leticha Clarke told the court that Dietrich began shouting abuse at gardaí, including telling them to "f**k off".
Defence solicitor Fiona D'Arcy said Dietrich had been a top student in school and had gone on to study business in college.
The court heard that she became pregnant with her first child while in college and later experienced severe mental health difficulties.
Ms D'Arcy said doctors had struggled both to diagnose Dietrich and to find the correct medication for her.
The court was told that, at the time of the incident, Dietrich had stopped taking her medication and had made the unwise decision to drink, which she did not usually do.
Counsel said Dietrich had no recollection of the incident.
The court also heard that she is now back on her medication and is doing well.
