A woman in her 40s has been remanded in custody after appearing before Swords District Court accused of breaching a civil restraining order and committing a number of related public order offences.
The woman is alleged to have harassed her neighbours over a period of two years after gardaí obtained CCTV footage from them in connection with a row on their road.
She appeared before the court charged with breaching a civil restraining order, as well as offences including assaulting a peace officer and violent behaviour in a garda station.
Objecting to bail, a garda witness alleged that during an incident near her home in north county Dublin last Sunday, the accused was highly abusive towards the neighbours who hold the civil restraining order against her.
The court heard allegations that she shouted phrases including "you f**kin pervs", "you're scaring my daughter", "you're so f**king boring you're watching them" and "you keep watching them you're going to get it".
The garda further alleged that the accused had continually harassed the neighbours since the earlier CCTV material was handed over to gardaí.
In evidence before the court, the applicant who obtained the civil restraining order said the respondent's behaviour escalated two years ago and that she began shouting abuse at both her and her husband, including calling them "perverts" and "paedos".
The applicant said there were no grounds for those allegations.
She also alleged that the respondent had threatened to put a hit on her husband and had tried to knock him down.
The court heard that the applicant said she has children and no longer feels safe in her own home.
In her own evidence, the respondent said she would comply with any bail conditions imposed, including a curfew and a sign-on requirement.
She also alleged that the applicant had attacked her with a hammer and had CCTV cameras monitoring her constantly. Those claims were denied by the applicant.
Judge Stephanie Coggans refused bail and remanded the woman in custody for one week.
