A woman who admitted theft, obstructing gardaí and public intoxication has been sentenced to six months in prison, with a further six months suspended.
Candice Heron, 34, of Conyngham Road, Dublin 8, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to a number of offences including theft, obstructing gardaí and public intoxication.
The court heard that in December last year, Heron was confronted after stealing two packets of crisps from a Centra store on Dame Street.
When asked to return the items, she refused and threw them on the ground.
The court also heard that when gardaí asked whether she had anything sharp on her before carrying out a search, she replied: "take the f**king risk".
In a separate incident on March 9 this year, an ambulance was called when Heron was found stumbling on a footpath at Westmoreland Street.
The court heard that she became aggressive towards ambulance staff, refused medical attention, and began swinging at gardaí.
Judge Treasa Kelly was told that Heron had 88 previous convictions.
Defence solicitor Holly Laher said her client had a significant problem with alcohol.
The court heard that Heron had been in custody since the Westmoreland Street incident, and the judge backdated the sentence accordingly.
